around the solstice
the dark
Benjamin Britten, excerpt from first suite for cello solo, Jean-Guihen Queyras
the passage
gully, narrowing
a very powerful point of light in the distance, in the dark
liberating squeeze
a firework burst illuminates the entire space
intersection
a myriad of trajectories come together at a single point
stillness
suspension where everything = nothing = everything
propulsion
like a comet towards the creation of new forms
the hollow
winter solstice, smallest day, unexpected little corner
in the irradiated space, its scant light like a pocket of shadow
a pocket of shadow where you can rest, calmly mussing yourself as the cat
pushes her delicate face under our armpit,
perhaps, perhaps, let the light return
sixty seconds on the morrow of the smallest day,
we can stay in the pocket of shadow, only coming out with our snout
only to drink in the sixty seconds.
Christiane Veschambre, Where I don’t write
one minute by the fire

today marks the second anniversary of the publication of the meridian, and we’re celebrating with you !
